Description
Mixing ratio (by volume): 10 : 1 PU Hardener DR 4071
FANTASTC-FILL can be used for shopfitting and on all interior fixtures and fittings, including in kitchens and bathrooms and the furnishing of ship interiors. Depending on application method, FANTASTIC-FILL can also be used in different hardening versions.
- excellent levelling similar to a colour lacquer
- superb anti-sagging properties on vertical surfaces
- fast drying and stacking strength
- outstandingly easy to sand back by hand and machine
Surface Preparation
Clean, dry wood, depending on species and application method. Perform cleaning by sanding on foil or melamine before coating.
Substrate sanding grits from-to
150 – 180 grit (with raw wood)
320 – 400 grit (foil, melamine, filler-coated substrate)
Intermediate lacquer sanding (grits) from-to
320 – 400
Finishing
FANTASTIC-FILL can be coated over after adequate drying and the specified sanding using the following Hesse colour range: DB 555-(colour tone), DB 4524x (gloss level)-(colour tone) / DB 525 (colour tone), DB 4520x (gloss level)-(colour tone), DB 4476x (gloss level)-(colour tone), DB 4888x (gloss level)-(colour tone). FANTASTIC-FILL can also be used beneath coloured, high gloss lacquers in the Hesse range DB 449-(colour tone) and DB 44099 (colour tone).
Although Hesse PU Isolation primer DP 491-9343 / DP 4791-9343 would be the first choice for the best results beneath high gloss. Moreover, after prior review of the results, it is also possible to apply a top coat using most common coloured paints.
Comments on sanding
For direct coating on cleaned or sanded foils, please carry out a trial painting to check the adhesion! Sanding with 400 – 600 grit is recommended before applying a final coat of high gloss finish.
Application
- 2C line
- Airless
- High-performance automatic spraying unit
- Automatic spray gun
- Spraying robot
- PU lacquers should not be applied or dried at material and room temperatures of less than 18 °C and 40 % RH, ideal values: 20 – 25 °C, 50 – 65 % RH. Deviations will result in drying or curing faults.
- To avoid adhesion problems, please sand PU lacquered surfaces before applying fresh lacquer and apply lacquer to these sanded surfaces as soon as possible.
- Old lacquer/hardener mixtures will affect the surface quality (adhesion/resistance). If stored correctly (at least 20°C room temperature), complete hardening of the coating is achieved after a week.
Please apply a test coat under real conditions!
Particular Instructions
FANTASTIC-FILL in a mixing ratio (by volume) of 10 : 1 with DR 471 / DR 4071 is universally applicable and has isolating and filling properties. FANTASTIC-FILL hardened in this manner can in parallel be used on sanded metals from which grease has been removed: iron, galvanized iron, V2A steel panels and aluminium. A trial coating should be applied as necessary.
At a mixing ratio (by volume) of 10 : 1 with DR 470 / DR 4070, FANTASTIC-FILL can be applied to light and dark woods (except exotic species) as well as MDF or chipboard substrates with ABS or PVC lamination and edging. Application on bare MDF surfaces and edges is exclusively possible at a mixing ratio (by volume) of 10 : 1 using DR 471 /DR 4071!
A mixing ratio (by volume) of 3 : 1 with DR 4076-0001 means that FANTASTIC-FILL is Decopaint compliant without the addition of a thinner and thus satisfies ChemVOC FarbV.
This product must only be combined with other approved and technically suitable products when it is used as a flame retardant coating material for seagoing vessels according to the latest version of SOLAS 74/88 Reg. II-2/3, II-2/5 and II-2/6, IMO Resolution MSC.36(63)-(1994 HSC-Code) 7 and IMO Resolution MSC.97(73)-(2000 HSC-Code) 7. On MDF substrates: Thick boards that have been created by gluing together several thinner boards are, due to the variance in tension, susceptible to edge ridging. It is better to select a single MDF board of the appropriate thickness.
Panels that have been glued together should always be sanded flat at the edges and colourlessly pre-insulated. Any water introduced by gluing must be allowed to evaporate prior to coating.
“A risk assessment was undertaken according to Directive 2014/90/EU, Annex II, Section 3. This coating does not pose a physical risk to health nor a risk to the environment when cured and dried.”
