Processing instructions

One to three coats at 100 – 150 g/m² on suitable substrates. The maximum application amount in wet film totals 350 g/m². The maximum total application amount when used as a flame-retardant coating agent for seagoing vessels is 150 g/m². For the lacquering of critical substrates, a curing of the lacquer/hardener mixture of 5 : 1 with PUR hardener DR 4070 is recommended. The curing 5 : 1 with the PUR hardener DR 4076-0001, also enables direct lacquering on glass, after a prior mixing of 5 % glass lacquer additive EL 460-0025 to the lacquer components. It is necessary to clean the glass surface to be lacquered beforehand properly with Hesse glass cleaner ZD 101.

  • Polyurethane coatings should not be used or dried at material and room temperatures of less than 18 °C and 40 % RH, ideal values: 20 – 25 °C, 50 – 65 % RH. Deviations will result in drying or curing errors.
  • Mixed residues from the previous day must only be used as a 10 – 20 % aggregate in a fresh lacquer/hardener mixture.
  • Old lacquer/hardener mixtures impair the surface quality (adhesion/stability).
  • Freshly bleached woods must undergo intermediate drying for at least 48 h at 20 °C before overpainting with polyurethane lacquers. If stored correctly (at least 20 °C / room temperature), complete hardening of the coating is°achieved after a week.
  • Please test the lacquer under real conditions!
